Terms of Service

Effective 7 October 2026

These terms are an agreement between you and Anvela Technology Ltd (RC 9897476, Lagos, Nigeria), called "Anvela" or "we" here. They apply when you use anvela.ng, the Anvela phone app or Anvela Market. By creating an account or using Anvela, you accept them. Our Privacy Policy, Refund Policy and Delivery Policy form part of these terms. Nothing in them takes away a right you have under Nigerian law, including the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Act 2018.

Who can use Anvela

  • You must be at least 18 years old.
  • If you use Anvela for a business, you confirm that you are allowed to act for it, and the business accepts these terms too.
  • The details you give us must be true and kept up to date.

Your account

  • Keep your password private. We recommend turning on two-step sign-in.
  • You are responsible for what is done with your account, unless it was caused by a fault on our side. If you think someone else has used it, tell us at once at support@anvela.ng.
  • A Founder decides who joins their business and what each person can see and do, and is responsible for the people they add.

Plans and payment

  • Start is free, with the limits shown on the Plans page. Growth and Business are paid through Paystack: monthly by card, or quarterly or yearly in one payment, plus 7.5% VAT, with a numbered receipt.
  • A monthly plan renews automatically until you stop it. You can stop it at any time from Plan & billing.
  • If we change a price, we will tell you at least 30 days before. The new price applies from your next renewal.
  • If a renewal payment fails, your business may move to Start until it is paid. Nothing is deleted.
  • Refunds follow our Refund Policy.

Your data and your business records

  • What you put into Anvela stays yours. You allow us to store, copy and process it only to run Anvela for you, as our Privacy Policy explains. You can download it, free, at any time.
  • When your business keeps details about its customers, staff or suppliers in Anvela, your business is responsible for having the right to collect them and for telling those people how they are used, as the Nigeria Data Protection Act requires. We process those details on your behalf and only on your instructions.
  • You are responsible for your own records, taxes and accounts. Anvela helps you work out figures such as VAT, but it does not give tax, legal or financial advice.

Ellis, Anvela's assistant

  • Ellis uses artificial intelligence. Its answers can be wrong or incomplete, so check them before you rely on them.
  • Ellis proposes; you decide. It does not change your records without your approval.
  • Ellis is not professional advice. Each plan includes a number of Ellis questions; the Plans page shows how many.

Anvela Market

Anvela Market is a marketplace run by Anvela. Each shop on it is an independent business that sells its own goods and services. The shop's name is shown on every listing, at checkout and on your order. When you buy, your contract of sale is with the shop.

Anvela runs the checkout, holds your payment until the shop accepts your order, decides disputes as our Refund Policy explains, and removes listings and shops that break these terms. Your rights as a consumer under Nigerian law apply in full.

If you shop on Anvela Market

  • Pay only through Anvela's checkout. Payments made outside Anvela are not covered.
  • Give a correct delivery address and phone number, and be available to receive your order.
  • Give your delivery code only when you have your items.
  • Write reviews honestly, about orders you actually placed.

If you sell on Anvela Market

  • Describe what you sell truthfully, with your own photos, and show the full price. The delivery fee for each area is shown at checkout.
  • Sell only lawful goods and services that you have the right to sell, with any licence the law requires. Do not sell counterfeit or stolen goods, weapons, illegal drugs, prescription medicines without authorisation, adult content, or anything Paystack does not allow.
  • Accept or decline each order within the time your shop shows, deliver as promised, and handle returns and refunds as our Refund Policy and the law require.
  • Never ask a customer to pay outside Anvela.
  • Use a customer's details only to fulfil their order.
  • Anvela's commission is 3% of the goods in each order, never the delivery fee, and at most ₦5,000 an order. It is taken when your share is paid to you. Paystack's fees also apply, as our Refund Policy explains. We will tell you at least 30 days before any change.

Bookings

When you book a service through Anvela, the booking is between you and the shop. Payments, cancellations and deposits follow our Refund Policy.

What you must not do

  • Break the law, deceive anyone or commit fraud through Anvela.
  • Pretend to be someone else, or use another person's account.
  • Try to see data you have not been given access to, or test Anvela's security without our written permission. If you find a weakness, tell us at support@anvela.ng.
  • Copy Anvela's content in bulk, overload Anvela, or copy or take apart its software, except where the law allows.
  • Upload harmful software, send spam, or harass anyone through Anvela.
  • Resell Anvela without a written agreement with us.

Our service

We work to keep Anvela available, safe and accurate. It may pause for maintenance, or for reasons outside our control, and we keep improving it, so features can change. Where a change affects what you pay for, we will tell you in advance where we can.

Suspension and closing

  • You can delete your account at any time (see anvela.ng/delete-account).
  • We may suspend or close an account or a shop that breaks these terms, puts other people at risk, or where the law requires it. We will tell you why and give you a chance to respond, unless the law or a risk to others prevents it.
  • If we close your account, you can still download your data, unless the law prevents it.

Anvela's property

The Anvela software, name and logo belong to Anvela Technology Ltd. While your account is open, you may use Anvela for its intended purpose; this right cannot be passed to anyone else. If you send us ideas or feedback, we may use them freely.

Other services

Paystack, Google and other services that Anvela connects to have their own terms. We choose them carefully, but we are not responsible for how they run their own services.

Responsibility for losses

  • We provide Anvela with reasonable care and skill.
  • Where the law allows, we are not responsible for loss of profit, business or data that you could have avoided by downloading your records, for losses that were not reasonably foreseeable, or for events outside our reasonable control.
  • Where the law allows, our total responsibility to a business in any 12 months is limited to the greater of what it paid Anvela in those 12 months and ₦100,000.
  • Nothing in these terms limits responsibility for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything that Nigerian law does not allow to be limited, including your rights as a consumer.

If a business's use causes a claim

If your business breaks the law or these terms through Anvela and someone makes a claim against Anvela because of it, your business will cover Anvela's reasonable costs of that claim.

Disagreements and the law that applies

If something goes wrong, contact support@anvela.ng first. We will try to settle it with you within 30 days.

These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, and the courts of Lagos State may decide any dispute. As a consumer, you can also complain to the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission.

Changes to these terms

If we change these terms in a way that matters, we will tell you by email or in Anvela at least 30 days before the change takes effect. If you keep using Anvela after that, the new terms apply. If you do not agree, you can stop using Anvela and delete your account.
